Privacy policy
Overview
We, Electronic Materials Office, support your right to privacy. Our business is based on manufacturing and selling hardware products and not on gathering, mining or selling personal information.
To the extent that our products and websites can provide their functionality without doing so, we prefer to avoid collecting personal data from you. In the cases where we do collect data or share data with third parties, it is either required for functionality or part of providing a service to you (e.g. arranging for a product to be sent to you).
The privacy policy below, together with the Terms of Service, explains in more detail exactly what kind of information we may collect and how we use it. We’ve tried to simplify it as much as possible, but if you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
Information We May Collect
In the course of browsing our website we may collect non-personal information including your browser type, the URL of the previous website you visited, your ISP, operating system, and your Internet protocol (IP) Address. The non-personal information is not used by us to personally identify you and is not readily usable for that purpose.
If and when you subscribe to our service or otherwise make a purchase through our Website we may collect your full name, billing address, shipping address, (optionally) company name, and email address.
In addition, if you communicate with us regarding the Website or any of our services or products we collect any information that you provide to us during the course of our communication.
We may use analytic and reporting technologies to record non-personal information such as Internet domain and host names, Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser software, operating system types, and the dates and times that the Website and our services are accessed by you.
We do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.
We do not collect or store your credit card's number, expiration date, or CVV code. When you purchase from us, your credit card details are managed entirely by a third party, Shopify.
Our Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
We do not sell or otherwise disclose this information to third-parties, except as required to complete your transaction and shipment. For example, we send it to our credit card processor once at the time of purchase in order to authorise the transaction, or to our shipping partners to be able to handle your shipment.
We will disclose your personal information to protect or enforce our legal rights and policies, to protect or enforce the legal rights of a third party, or as we in good faith believe we are required to do so by law.
Email List
If you sign up for our email newsletter, the email address you provide will be added to the our mailing list.
We do not sell or otherwise disclose any portion of our email list to third-parties, with the exception of the vendor that provides our mailing list services as necessary to distribute the emails.
If you join one of our email lists, we retain your email address until you ask to be removed. Instructions on how to unsubscribe are contained in all messages sent to the email list. You can also contact us directly at [email protected] to unsubscribe.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer when using certain websites. Our website will only use cookies that are essential for the operation of the ecommerce portion of our website. These cookies are provided and managed by Shopify.
How We Protect Your Personal Information
We consider protecting the security of your personal information as very important. When you enter sensitive information such as a credit card number and/or social security number on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (sometimes referred to as “SSL”). When transmitting sensitive information, you should always make sure that your browser can validate the Website’s certificate.
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Website, any transmission is at your own risk. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we do not guarantee absolute security. We are not responsible for the unauthorised acts of others and we assume no liability for any disclosure of information due to errors in transmission, unauthorised third party access (such as through hacking) or other acts of third parties, or acts or omissions beyond our reasonable control.
